This thoughtful and memorable companion to the Noguchi’s Worlds Within has closed after a splendid year at the MFA Boston. The exhibition opened on Sept. 30, 2023 and ran through Sept. 29, 2024.

This interesting collaboration between the MFA and the Noguchi Museum provided an enriching and enlightening perspective on Takaezu’s work; and in addition to simultaneous exhibitions of the work of the same artist, the same exceptional monograph — Toshiko Takaezu: Worlds Within — functions as a catalog to each exhibition. The photographs are superb and the Art Historical and Biographical essays are exceptional.

“In my life I see no difference between making pots, cooking and growing vegetables. They are all so related. However, there is a need for me to work in clay. It is so gratifying and I get so much joy from it, and it gives me many answers in my life.”
