We are a working art studio carrying on the traditions of Toshiko Takaezu, our teacher, mentor, master and friend in her rural New Jersey home.
To learn more about this great artist plan a tour.
We are not affiliated with the Takaezu family or the Toshiko Takaezu Foundation
The Takaezu Studio is now a member of the Iconic Houses network, an international organization dedicated to connecting architecturally significant houses & artists’ homes and studios to eachother and to the public. We are honored to be a part of their program & encourage you all to visit their website and plan trips to the partnered locations- from Fallingwater to the Frida Khalo Museum & many more!
“In my life I see no difference between making pots, cooking and growing vegetables. They are all so related. However, there is a need for me to work in clay. It is so gratifying and I get so much joy from it, and it gives me many answers in my life.”
